A few tips about Registration:

  • Parking Permit. If you plan to park or drive on campus, you'll be required to purchase a university parking permit. The permit may be purchased in advance in the Parking Service Office, located in the lower level of Garage B, next to the Bookstore and across from the School of Nursing on Central Campus. The Parking Service Office maintains all traffic, citation, appeals, and permit functions. A valid driver's license or other positive identification must be presented before a permit can be issued. A student permit costs between $72 and $672 per year.
  • ID Card. New students need to be photographed for university identification cards. Although time may be set aside during Orientation, it is recommended this be done in advance through UTHSCSA Police. Students who are also Health Science Center employees will receive a single ID card. University Police will issue the card at a cost of $10.00.
  • HSC E-mail and Domain Accounts and Badge Number. You will receive a letter at your home address providing your HSC e-mail and domain accounts, and your HSC Badge Number. You will need this information to communicate with your faculty and peers; access your financial aid, tuition and fees, enrollment information, and grades; and to make changes to your address and phone number.

As a standing university policy, only a student's university e-mail address shall be used for any electronic institutional communications of an official nature.

For help with your HSC e-mail account, see http://www.uthscsa.edu/computing or contact Triage (Computing Resources help desk) at 567-2069.

  • Housing. We encourage you to make arrangements for housing, telephone service, and banking facilities early. If you are looking for a roommate, you may contact the Office of Student Life and request a Housing List.
  • Tuition. Tuition and fees must be paid on or before the published first class day. A late registration fee of $100 will be assessed after the first published class day.
