Tuition and Fees

Students in the Professional Schools (School of Medicine and Dental School) pay tuition and fees based upon the curriculum for an academic year. Additional fees for Dental School students may be found on the Dental School Web site at http://dental.uthscsa.edu/admissions/DDS_financialinfo.php. Undergraduate, Graduate, and post-Professional students (Advanced Dental Education, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, and School of Nursing) pay tuition and fees based upon the hours for which they register each semester.

Registration is not complete until tuition and fees are paid. A late registration fee of $100 is assessed to students paying tuition and fees after the published first class day. To avoid the late registration fee, students must pay or arrange for installments prior to the published first class day for the term.

Students who enroll in classes and do not pay tuition and fees prior to the published census date of the term will be dropped from classes and withdrawn from the university.

Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice by action of the Texas Legislature, UT System Board of Regents, or the university. Tuition and fee changes become effective when enacted. Specific fee information can be found in the UT Health Science Center Catalog.

Late payments will result, at the university’s option, in one or more of the following actions:

  • the student’s barring from class until payment is made;
  • withholding of credit if payment is not made by the end of the semester, with the university adjusting records to reflect the student’s failure to have properly enrolled for that semester;
  • bar against readmission and withholding of grades, degree and official transcript; or
  • other remedies authorized by law.
