Registration Holds
You are responsible for assuring that there are no blocks to your registration. You will not be enrolled in classes if you have a hold on your record. To check your student record to see if you have holds:
- Log onto the UTHSCSA Portal using your student User ID and Password (http://inside.uthscsa.edu/), and click on "Sign In."
- Answer "Yes" to the Security Alert.
- In the Enterprise menu box, click on "Student Administration."
- On the Student Administration screen:
- Click on "Self Service" and then click on "Student Center."
- Holds will be listed in the upper right-hand corner of the Student Center.
Some common reasons for holds are listed below.
- Completion of Course Requirements: Any student whose admission is contingent upon completion of requirements, must show proof of successful completion (a grade report or a letter from your instructor in a sealed envelope or other documentation) in order to enroll in classes. Present documentation to the Registrar's Office no later than the Friday before Orientation.
- Resident Aliens: Students who have a permanent resident visa must provide the Registrar’s Office with a copy of their Resident Alien card in order to enroll in classes.
- Immunizations: You will NOT be allowed to enroll in classes if you have not returned your Immunization Record card or if your immunizations are not up to date.
- International Students: International students cannot enroll until approval is obtained from the Office of International Services. Contact the Office of International Services at 210-567-6241.
